MetricsERP Reorder Planning is a very powerful material planning capability which allows you to determine when to reorder products or materials to maintain optimal stock levels. It involves calculating a reorder point, which is the inventory level at which a new order should be placed to avoid stockouts while minimizing excess inventory.
List of key features available in the MetricsERP Reorder Planning:
- Ability to plan based on planning horizon and plan for days. “Planning horizon” meaning - last how many days of material consumption to be considered to determine the stock quantity for the “Plan for” days.
- Determining the net demand (demand - supply) in terms of both primary and secondary unit of measure. Example: 120 pieces or 10 boxes.
- Supply quantity incorporates existing stock, open purchase order balance and unreserved work in process (WIP) quantity not only for the respective item but also for the alternate or substitute items.
- Ability to create purchase orders for the net demand quantity for preferred supplier or last supplier. System will automatically determine the pricing based on the existing supplier price lists.
- Ability to perform planning by ignoring PO Supply and alternate stock quantity. This feature is usually leveraged by the customer who does not have accurate purchase order balance data due to data entry inconsistencies.
